Touchdown Baseline

I think I got it working again. Had to fix some cookie data and cleaning some stuff on the backend so hopefully it functions. Might have to just do this from a different browser altogether. I love boxing tape as much as the next guy but this is getting a little nuts.

Anyway today is my day off before I throw myself into the den of wolves. And they’re hungry. I’m just expecting long meetings and dealing with people who called out last minute and now I have to pick up their non-existent slack. On the plus side it means a bigger contribution towards my 401k.

Alright, I’m going back to bed.

Underground Drill Operator

Had to make this post really quick. Just finished an interview for someone to potentially be added to my team. It didn’t go so well for them. They didn’t know how to answer half of my questions and they were dressed in flip flops, sweatpants, a hooded sweatshirt and a beanie. Needless to say it wasn’t happening. Maybe the next one will be better.

Alright my break is over.

Incendiary

Had a doctors appointment yesterday. Just routine medical stuff. Also got blood work done to make sure I was still alive. Spoiler alert: I still am! But my sugar level seemed to be a little on the low side. Doctor said nothing to worry about yet.

This morning I helped out a neighbor with a package drop off. They were stuck with work at home but needed some chemical removal stuff at the hardware store so I swung by to pick it up on the way over. I also went and grabbed a big spud on the way back to have for lunch. Obviously I loaded it with whatever I had at home. Can’t even remember what was in it.

Anyway tomorrow starts another long shift so I’m gonna get some shut eye.

Barrel Bone Shoplifting

Was coming back home from a walk this afternoon and I took a quick detour through an apartment complex to walk a bridge over a creek on the other end of the complex. As I was walking by I noticed on one side of the building one of the gutter pipes had hit the window of the corner unit on the top floor. Not sure if anyone is living there but either way I hope it gets fixed soon.

Anyway I’m home now and I had a great dinner. It was a couple slices of pizza, a small chicken pot pie and a bottle of Gatorade. The best of combinations. Also that pie was one of those individual ones that you buy in the frozen section of the grocery store. Pretty good stuff I think.

Alright, I think that will be it for this post. I’m gonna get some sleep.

Wicked Moisture

Doing this before I start my shift. Had a bad storm the other day and now we have ants crawling around inside the home. I guess the ground was so badly saturated that the nearby ant hill washed them out. Last night I found a few stragglers in my bed and had to take care of them.

Helped out some friends with a project last week. They were thinking of removing some wall space to make the kitchen area feel more open. And also to make the fridge more accessible. I helped out by taking out extra food and cleaning supplies from this little area that was going to get reworked. The removal won’t start for another month I figured might as well move stuff out anyway.

Anyway, gotta get ready for the day. Have a good one!

Bad news. Ran into an issue with Google so I won’t be able to post a picture this month. I’ll try to do a bonus photo later in the month when it gets fixed.

Feral Tarantula People

Was forced to take a break for a good while. Management gave everyone a 48-hour notice about office renovations. Flooring had to be redone, walls had to be torn down, new ventilation in the ceiling and roof and so on. Thankfully we were still able to ship out any parts and gear as scheduled for the time being.

Also not sure when everything will get finished. Boss says in two weeks maybe. Obviously I’m taking it with a grain of salt. And the notice was sent out about two weeks ago. That’s mainly why I couldn’t blog in the last little bit. That and I’m just kinda lazy.

Alright I’m gonna try to get a little sleep…

This thing grew outside my yard after a heavy rainstorm. No I didn’t touch it.

Slow Road to Nowhere

Had a nice lunch today with some friends I haven't seen a long while. And by long while I mean four and a half months. Everyone has gotten older and we're all living our lives the best we can. And yet we're still able to make time to just be with each other for about an hour. After that we parted ways. Don't know when I'll see them again. Maybe by the end of the year or at least the start of football season. We will see.

Anyway, my laundry's done. I better go take care of it.

Traveler’s Cellar

Lots of heavy hit us last night and this morning. Currently got a nice sun break before it hits the area again late tonight. That’s gonna be a fun night for listening.

Speaking of this morning, I dropped off a care package to the local parcel service to a friend that lives cross country. They needed a bit of help after a recent wreck followed by a recent surgery. I figured I would be extra nice. Hopefully they get it within a few days.

Anyway, I’m tired and need some food. Time to have an enchilada snack.

Unconvinced

I’m on lunch break so I’ll make this quick.

I’ve rapidly losing passion for a lot of things in life again. I haven’t felt this bad since the height of Covid. I’m sure I’ll find some sort of spark again but in the meantime I just don’t care. Right now I’m just slogging away at work without much care or regard to any consequences. I just don’t care.

A Nickel’s Worth of Peanut Butter

Went to the pharmacy on my day off because prescription time again. I take it for stuff. I tried to get a refill but something about new rules for insurance policies and they can’t do anything about it. Might or might not have anything to do with giant amphibious robots fully lubricated with vegetable oil.

Anyway I tried a new type of taco last week with some weird combination of sauces and chopped grilled chicken. I would say that it wasn’t the worst in the world but I’ve definitely had better.

Meanwhile I had a friend win an auction. They won some kind of industrial air fryer that was barely used. Met up with them at one of those auction warehouse sites the other day. Had to help them load it up in the truck. Good times. Hope they put it to good use.

Anyway, my brain hurts. Going back to sleep.

I know I made it with AI. That’s pretty much all I do with it other than sports predictions. Otherwise it’s utterly useless to me.

Terrifyingly Tart Tofu

Not much to talk about this time, but I figured I would say something because why not?

Had an interesting conversation with my uncle about sheep. Also robots. He might’ve just been rambling about that Isaac Asimov book and just wanted a blood relative to listen to his thoughts in a public space. We were at a diner.

He’s at that age where he can’t remember which country he lives in half the time and we’ve really only known each other for a few years at best. About halfway through the conversation he thought I was one of my older cousins. Might’ve been the one that passed a few years ago. Not sure. Either way we both agreed to deny the thought ever coming up.

After that all happened we went our separate ways and now I’m laying in bed hoping my prescription medication doesn’t disappear overnight. I still have the type of imagination that thinks inanimate objects get up and walk around all on their own for some reason.

Alright time for some sleep.

Disinfected Dragon Claws

Got the morning off from work. Having to help out with file reorganizing this evening. It'll be a late night at the office, but I'm one of the only few available to actually get it done. Last time me and the team did it together, I got through half of files by myself. The rest of the team got the other half combined. I guess I'm just that good.

Finally got the neighbors pipes completely replaced. There was some kind of acidic corrosion that happened on the inside of the pipe a few years ago. Would've gotten it done sooner but the pipe was coming from an area completely covered in ice and snow. Gotta love when logistics happen.

Anyway, just about time for my shift to start. Wish me luck.
