Old Man's Consequences

Even I feel old thinking about writing this.

I remember a long time ago, back around 2002 or so, I had an interesting conversation with an old man. If I remember right, he was a family-friend of my grandfather. Anyway, we were talking about all kinds of stuff. Things like what we enjoy eating between meals and our favorite hobbies.

At some point, our conversation turned into the meaning of having consequences in life. I gave the example of not studying for a test results in a bad grade of said test. The example the old man used was something along the lines making a bed and sleeping in it. To this day I still haven't quite figured out how that's a consequence of any kind, but I never questioned it. I simply pondered on it every now and then. Just a random thought that popped up in my head. No need to take it seriously.

I'm sure the old man has passed by this point. He was rather old when I last spoke with him, which was about three years after our consequences conversation. A very kind man indeed.

Anyway, that's my long thought for today. I'll probably have my final thoughts for the year posted in about two weeks from now.
